Hello, I’m Harry Wiks.
I write about car insurance for people who would rather be doing anything else than reading about car insurance.
InsureRide started with a simple frustration: insurance is something every driver has to buy, yet almost nobody explains it in plain language. Policies are full of jargon, prices seem to change for no clear reason, and the small print always seems to matter most when it is too late. I wanted a place where anyone could find a straight answer — what cover means, what it costs, how to buy it, and what to do when something goes wrong.
That is what I do here. I take one insurance topic at a time — coverage, costs, quotes, claims, car loans — and break it down into clear, honest guidance. I check the details, I explain the trade-offs, and I tell you what I would want to know before spending my own money.
What InsureRide covers
- Coverage Explained — what policies cover, what they exclude, and the add-ons worth knowing about.
- Insurance Costs & Saving — how premiums are set and how to bring yours down.
- Quotes & Buying — comparing quotes and choosing a policy with confidence.
- Claims & Support — step-by-step help when you need to make a claim.
- Loans & Financing — borrowing to buy a car and paying for insurance in instalments.
How I work
Everything on InsureRide is written to help you decide — not to sell you a policy. I do not take payment to recommend a particular insurer, and when a guide mentions a product or a service, it is because it is useful, not because someone paid for the mention. You can read more in the Editorial Policy and the Disclosure.
Insurance rules and prices change, and they vary by country and by insurer, so I write for a global audience and keep guides general where the details differ. Always check the policy documents for the cover you are buying — they are the final word.
