InsureRide is a free information website about car insurance. This policy explains what information this website collects when you visit it, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language on purpose.
Who we are
InsureRide is a car insurance blog at https://insureride.autos, written and run by Harry Wiks. InsureRide is not an insurer, a broker, or an agent, and it does not sell insurance. If you have a question about this policy, email Harry at ItsHarry12@gmail.com.
What information we collect
When you contact us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive the details you send: your name, your email address, and your message. We use them only to answer you and to improve the site. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you clearly ask to join one.
When you comment. If you leave a comment, the site stores the name, email address, website (if you give one) and comment you enter, along with your IP address and browser details, to help detect spam. Your comment may be checked by an automated spam-detection service. Your email address is not shown publicly.
When you simply browse. Like almost every website, InsureRide’s hosting server records standard technical information in its logs when a page is requested, such as the page visited, your browser type, and a truncated IP address. This is used for security, troubleshooting and understanding which guides readers find useful. No user account is needed to read InsureRide, and we do not ask you to register.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. InsureRide uses a small number of them:
- Necessary cookies — for the site to work, including security and remembering your comment details if you choose to save them.
- Performance cookies — a cache is used to make pages load faster; it may use a cookie to tell whether a visitor is logged in.
- Advertising cookies — if advertising appears on InsureRide in future, the advertising provider may set cookies to show ads and measure how they perform. You can switch these off in your browser settings.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work, though some features may be less convenient.
Embedded content and links
Some articles may include embedded content from other websites, such as videos, or links to insurers and other sources. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited that other website, and it may collect data about you, use cookies, or track your interaction with it. We have no control over those services. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. Information you send us is shared only where needed to run the site: with our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its database; with the email service that delivers contact-form messages; and with spam-detection services that check comments. If the law requires us to share information, for example in response to a lawful request, we will do so.
How long we keep information
Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of the enquiry, and then deleted. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then overwritten.
Your rights
If you have left a comment or sent us a message, you can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can also ask us to stop contacting you. To make a request, email ItsHarry12@gmail.com. We will answer as quickly as we can and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Children
InsureRide is written for adults who drive and buy car insurance. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site changes — for example, if advertising or analytics are added. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Significant changes will be noted here.
